{california trip pics - part one}

Well, my trip to California was well over a month ago and I'm just now getting around to posting some of the pics on here! After I got back we had over 5 weeks of sickness plague our house! From bad colds to teething, to reflux issues, to Roseola, we had it all and it lasted FOREVER! I cannot tell you how many times I was thrown up on...no fun at all. The worst of it really was just being stuck in the house every day all day long...it nearly drove me insane & I felt so bad for Caden who was only sick for one of the weeks - he got very bored, but still did remarkably good despite the circumstances.

All of the sickness also meant I missed out on a whole month of training for the 1/2 marathon in November. Fortunately, I've been back on track and didn't seem to lose any of my stamina! I'm really enjoying running again - it had been way to long since I'd done it consistently!

It's almost hard to remember the trip, but the pictures do bring back the memories! It was gorgeous there & I think I barely managed to keep from driving everyone crazy shooting pictures! Most of these are from an early morning drive we took...the coastal fog was still heavy & it was so much fun to be able to stop and take pictures of it all!

Gorgeous Jaimee!!!

I was in that area last year at this time, drinking wine with my girlfriends. Ah, good times.

That picture of the one sunflower needs to be blown up and framed - on MY wall!!! : )

Just FABulous. So lovely, Jaime. That last picture especially for me.

Well, I hope everyone is not sick anymore. And I hope that means everyone won't be sick again for awhile.

Five weeks of sickness? Doesn't that merit you 10 weeks of nothing but health and happiness, just for good balance? :)

You know, I tend to always think of California as beach front, LA type scenes. I love the different glimpse your photo series affords. The last shot particularly. Delightful.

I think I saw these on your Facebook, too, but it is wonderful to see them again. YOu got some gorgeous shots when you were out there.

Hope everyone is well again in your household. That is way too long to go through sickness. :(

The colors are amazing. I really like the photos of the fence. I would have taken pictures of it as well and gotten a lot of flack from my hubby on why are you taking picture of an old rusty fence. It good to see that other have my same taste.

Jaimee, I for one am so glad you were our designated photographer on the trip. The photos turned out so nice and take me back to the relaxing fun we had.

As one of the others commented, I had always thought of Calif. as beaches and city living until I visited this area. Completely different view of Calif. when you see the rural/agriculature side.

OMG Jaimee!!! Freaking spectacular shots. These could easily be in a ad campaign. The lighting, the colors, the boldness, the softness, the perspective are all so perfect in every shot. Beautiful!!
