It was the last time I had my camera before I sent it in to Nikon for assessment/repair...I've been super frustrated with my focus lately and finally decided it was more that operator error after looking back at my old photos and seeing much better focus! Anyway, Nikon has had my camera for almost a week and I have yet to hear from them....very frustrating! I think I will be on their case tomorrow as they originally told me I'd hear from them "early in the week"!
Anyway, we went back to the zoo again today with Christina & Nadia! We had a blast, but OH MY, what a difference two weeks makes! When we went 2 weeks ago, the weather was perfect - high of 80, I think...Today, well, I don't know what the high was, but it. was. HOT & HUMID! And, the zoo was the busiest I've ever seen it too! I think every school, daycare and summer camp had their kids there today! But, despite all of that, we had a lot of fun and enjoyed it so much we didn't' even realize how late it was when we looked at a clock for the first time...4 hours had passed so quickly!
So, here are the pics from the FIRST trip to the zoo...
These big gorillas AMAZE me! I always feel so bad for them though...I think they know they are there for show and they always look so depressed...something just seems wrong about people oooggling over them day in and day out...

Caden just loved them...at first...

Until this guy JUMPED up and growled? at him...it happened SO fast and Caden freaked out....I just happened to be pressing the shutter at the perfect moment to catch this...then Caden jumped backward - fortunately, Brandon was right there to catch him!

Caden now walks around saying "I scared" anytime we make a gorilla noise or ask him about the gorillas...poor guy was traumatized. He was a little interested in them today, but did NOT want me to put him down or go near the glass...But, it did not stop him from being a little monkey himself...

And then we went to see the penguins...Oh my, I've NEVER seen Caden get so excited in my life over something! I LOVE this entire series...even though they are noisy as can be and almost none of them are in focus! I think a trip to the Aquarium is most certainly going to be on our summer adgenda - this kid loves water animals!

These are precious! I love the penguin series too - it's almost as if I can hear his giggles and squeals!
Good luck with your camera too - I can only imagine how crazy you're feeling without it! Not to mention we don't get to see your amazing work too!
These are all amazing. I can see why you love the penguin series. You can tell he was having a blast!!
How crazy that he got so excited over the penguins? I wonder why he liked them so much? Great series.
Wonderful for Daddy to take the day off and even funner to go with Christina and Nadia! :0)
you weren't kidding when you said you had some good ones from the first trip!! Love the gorilla series - such amazing timing to capture the one with the monkey right in his face. He was still a bit freaked about them yesterday, wasn't he? Poor kid!
And oh my goodness, the penguin series! LOVE it. I can totally hear him laughing and shrieking again looking at those. His excitment is so dang cute. he got Nadia so excited about it, too! She told me again today that she wants a pet penguin, and it can live in the bathtub. :o) Too bad it was so crowded yesterday. Oh well, we'll just have to do it again! Mayeb we'll join for for the aquarium. :)
Let me know what Nikon says!!
the zoo is one of the best places in the world! love it and love your babe's expressions!
He'd probably love Sea World...
We were at the zoo on Wednesday too, we totally missed you guys - darn! I so wish we could meet you before I leave...
Anyway, great shots as usual. Love his love for the penguins. So cute!
Those shots of Caden with the penguins have got to be some of my favorite ever -- such a happy expression on his adorable little face!
Great pictures! Sorry to hear Caden got traumatized...that is so sad! At least he had a super fun time looking at the penguins. I'm pretty sure I can hear him laughing. :) What a cutie!
The pictures of Caden and the Penguin are great. I love the series of how excited he is. Doesn't it just melt your heart and make you well up with tears of joy when you see shear excited on their faces?
I love the pictures of the penguins and Caden! I've always loved Penguins too..
Sorry to break the news to you, but I think that you have to get a penguin for a pet :)
Hmm, I could see you taking this penguin love thing and stretching it into an Alaskan cruise. ;-} Seriously though, how cute is he enjoying those penguins?!
